Recently Kevin Flatt, professor at Redeemer University in Ancaster, ON, interviewed people involved with the renewal movement in the UCC. His research produced two articles which were shared in the December 2010 issue of Church and Faith Trends by the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.
You can read these two articles here. Enjoy, and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section.
From their opening pages, both these articles seem well worth reading, but the EFC server simply likes them too much to let them go! I’ll check back later.
Well, at least I’ve been right about one thing: both of these articles are well worth reading.
I found the brief history of renewal movements in The United Church very helpful in putting present developments into perspective.
I found the questioning of the assumption that there are scads of people out there just waiting to come back into the arms of the Church also helpful: we’re into a new era of personal evangelism, whether we like it or not.
